New Year’s French Tip

A classy, matte french tip nail design.

All materials used are from Holo Taco.

Polishes: Long Lasting Base, Smoothing Base, One Coat Black, Gold Flake Taco, Glossy Taco, Matte Taco.

Supplies (all optional): striping tape, makeup sponge, Simply Peel, tweezers.

Process:

  1. Paint Long Lasting Base, let dry, then paint Smoothing Base.

  2. Place striping tape in a diagonal line just above the tip of the nail. Each nail should have the striping tape placed in the same place and in the same angle.

  3. Following the striping tape, paint One Coat Black over the tips. Then peel away the striping tape.

  4. If you use a sponge, paint a coat of Simply Peel over your finger, around your nails (only necessary on the bottom half of the nails).

  5. Place striping tape at the negative slope/angle (so sorry if you hate math) of the black tip. Using a sponge, sponge on gold flakes, making sure that you don’t completely cover the black. Personally I think I put on too much gold and maybe painting a single layer would have been better. Remove the striping tape and Simply Peel.

  6. Seal with Glossy Taco.
