Wrapped in Stuart

A thick, warm quilt made with love

48x60in, cotton and flannel

My friend Griffin spent the second semester of our junior year in Colorado, so I organized ten other friends and made this quilt so they could bring us with them to Colorado.

I had each of them suggest a style for their fabrics (e.g. flowers, yellow, cats, burritos) and went and found patterns that matched. They all clash terribly, of course, but in my opinion, nothing could represent us better than loud, clashing patterns.

The back of the quilt is a soft, black and red flannel so that it’ll be more comfortable and because Griffin loves flannel.

Patterns (from top to bottom, left to right):

  1. Sascha, because it was bright and colorful

  2. Jules, for the pears

  3. Lauren, because she wanted space

  4. Erika, because it’s purple and astronomy

  5. Griffin, because the blue mountains and cabins reminded me of Colorado

  6. Hana, for the pink and flowers

  7. Me (Alyssa), because I used this exact fabric for my first quilt

  8. Hanna, because burritos is an inside joke

  9. Alexis, because calico cats are cute

  10. Ava, because I thought the rain boots were cute and happy

  11. Rohaan, because he wanted rainbow sparkles

  12. Alex, who requested the wackiest pattern I could find, which happened to be monster trucks
